Joe Biden rejects Ukraine’s plea for F-16 fighter jets

president Joe Biden on Monday rejected Ukraine’s appeal to get fighter jets to help fight his war against Wladimir Putin.

What happened: When asked if the US will send F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, Biden replied, “No,” Reuters reported.

However, he said he would visit key ally Poland. “I will go to Poland. I don’t know when though,” he told the media.

After saving Dozens of high-end main battle tanks from western allies Earlier this week Ukraine pushed for fourth-generation fighter jets like the American F-16 and missiles to beat Russia.

Yuri Sakthe Advisor to the Secretary of Defense Oleksiy Reznikov, told the media: “The next big hurdle will now be the fighter jets.”

“If we get them, the benefits on the battlefield are just going to be immense… It’s not just F-16s, fourth generation aircraft, that’s what we want,” he added.

Not only the US, but also Germany denied the possibility of sending fighter jets to Ukraine. The German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said, “I made it clear very early on that we weren’t talking about fighter jets, and I’m doing that here, too.”

Meanwhile, on Monday, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned Russia had begun to seek revenge for Kiev’s resistance to his invasion with relentless attacks in the east.
