American President Joe Biden said that his Russian counterpart Wladimir Putin has “already lost Ukraine.”
What happened: in a (n interview with PBS NewsHour afterwards Delivery of state of the nation addressBiden said, “There’s no way Putin can do that — he’s already lost Ukraine.”
“He thought that if he invaded Ukraine, the first thing he would do was be greeted by all the Russian speakers who would say, ‘Come in.’ Second, he thought what would happen is that NATO would collapse, NATO would do nothing, they were afraid to act,” Biden added.
“Get down the line, none of that happens.”
Biden added that NATO is considering further aid to Ukraine despite Russia thought it wouldn’t. He also said that the help for Kyiv is open-ended.
Meanwhile the group of seven Member States are considering sanctions against the Chinese, Iranians and North Koreans companies believed to be involved in supplying parts and technologies for military use to Russia, reported Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter. The group intends to complete by February 24 – the first anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine War.
