Market volatility rises after Polish rocket report…

US stocks closed higher on Tuesday as investors assess the latest inflation data.

Wall Street was buoyed by the inflation report, which showed producer prices rose 8% yoy in October versus market expectations for an 8.3% rise.

Investors also digested reports that Russian missiles entered Poland, killing two people.

shares of Walmart Inc WMT rose 6.5% on Tuesday after the retailer raised its full-year sales and profit forecasts.

The Nasdaq 100 rose 1.45% to close at 11,871.15 on Tuesday amid gains apple inc AAPL and Meta Platforms, Inc. META. The S&P 500 gained 0.87%, while the Dow Jones gained around 56 points to settle at 33,592.92 in the previous session.

Most sectors of the S&P 500 ended on higher notes, with communications services and consumer discretionary posting the biggest gains on Tuesday. However, healthcare materials and stocks fell in the previous session.

The Chicago Board Options Exchange’s CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) rose 3.4% to 24.54 points.
