Stocks initially rallied sharply after the rate decision but fell after Fed Chair Jerome Powell said it was very premature to consider pausing rate hikes.

The Nasdaq 100 fell 3.39% to close at 10,906.34 on Wednesday as shares declined Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN and apple inc AAPL. The S&P 500 fell 2.50% while the Dow Jones fell about 505 points to settle at 32,147.76 in the previous session.
All major sectors of the S&P 500 ended on lower marks, with consumer discretionary and information technology stocks posting the biggest falls on Wednesday.
