Milwaukee County Transit System uses Stertil-Koni to help modernize…

The Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS), the largest of its kind in the State of Wisconsinrecently partnered with Stertil-Koni, the leader in heavy-duty vehicle lifts, to integrate state-of-the-art vehicle lifts as part of its preparation for ushering in an era of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).

STEVENSVILLE, Md., May 3, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — The Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS), the largest of its kind in the State of Wisconsinrecently partnered with Stertil-Koni, the leader in heavy-duty vehicle lifts, to integrate state-of-the-art vehicle lifts as part of its preparation for ushering in an era of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).

As part of the process, MCTS purchased 14 telescopic pistons from Stertil-Koni for bottom mounting DIAMONDLIFT and 16 Mobile lifting columns from the exclusive distributor of Stertil-Koni in the region, Gear specialists for the Midwestwhich also carried out all elevator installations and hands-on technician training.

The stakes for MCTS are high. The organization has almost 16 million passengers a year on 40 routes with 3,878 bus stops. Reese oversees two MCTS workshops as well as the newly renovated fleet maintenance facility. The MCTS fleet includes 238 New Flyer clean diesel buses and 100 Gillig clean diesel buses. In addition, they will have a fleet of 15 Nova electric buses by the end of 2023.
