Edward Snowden apparently fired a shot at the President Joe Biden and its predecessor donald trump about the handling of secret documents in the office.

What happened: Snowden said in a recent tweet, “What’s remarkable is that the President seems to have gotten away with more classified documents than many whistleblowers.”

In contrast, the former US intelligence official pointed to the example of former US Air Force and NSA translator Reality Winner.

“Reality Winner was sentenced to 5 YEARS for just one document,” Snowden said in the tweet.

“By now, Biden, Trump, Clinton, Petraeus … these guys have dozens, hundreds. No prison.”

Tesla and Twitter chairman Elon Musk answered Snowden. He said, “Most people have no idea that Reality Winner is a real person.”

Why it matters: Snowden said his own handling of classified documents was more secure because he had “encrypted” them.

Snowden said in 2021 that he used Bitcoin BTC/USD help in the process of leaking secret documents In 2013.

US Attorney General Merrick garland said that on Thursday Robert Hur has been appointed as a special counsel investigating Biden’s misuse of classified documents.

Garland said documents were found in one on November 4 private office associated with Biden and on December 20 in the garage of Biden’s private home in Delaware.
