What happened: The social media tiff between Musk and King, what took the internet by storm eventually led to the theme of the ongoing Wladimir Putinwar in Ukrainewith the tech mogul claiming he’s donated about $100 million to the war-torn nation.
It all started when King took to Twitter to say so The confirmation tick remained intact even though the Twitter Blue subscription was not paid for. “My Twitter account says I’m subscribed to Twitter Blue. I haven’t. My twitter account says I gave a phone number. I haven’t.”
The exchange of words quickly escalated, followed by tweets and counter-tweets that went viral.

In one of his tweets, the American author suggested that the billionaire donate his blue tick to charity and recommended Ukraine’s Prytula Foundation, which provides life-saving services.
He suggested that the CEO of the new social media giant could donate more than the standard $8 monthly Twitter Blue subscription fee.
Musk hit back, citing a tweet from the former deputy prime minister Mikhail Fedorov praise SpaceX’s Contribution to Ukraine. Musk said his company donated $100 million to the country while turning down funds from the US Department of Defense.
Meanwhile, Twitter Restored blue ticks on some accounts, according to media reports. The criteria seem to be that a user must have more than a million followers to get the verified label.
