US stocks posted extended gains mid-trade, with the Nasdaq Composite gaining around 150 points on Tuesday.
The Dow was up 1.50% to 33,318.55, while the NASDAQ was up 1.46% to 10,718.77. The S&P 500 was also up 1.3% to 3,856.88.
Leading and lagging sectors
Materials stocks gained 2.6% on Tuesday. lead the sector was power out McEwen Mining Inc. MUX and Equinox Gold Corp. EQX.
In Tuesday trading, energy stocks fell 0.3%.

The NFIB Small Business Optimism Index fell to a three-month low of 91.3 in October from 92.1 in the previous month.
Stock trading UP
- TaskUs, Inc. TASK Shares shot up 31% to $21.00 after the company reported better-than-expected Q3 results. The company also issued revenue guidance for Q4 and FY22, which came in ahead of analyst estimates.
- shares of SkyWater Technology, Inc. SKYT got a boost, rising 33% to $11.48 after the company reported better-than-expected Q3 EPS and sales results.
- Grow Generation Corp. GRWG Shares also rose, gaining 37% to $4.52 after the company reported better-than-expected third-quarter sales.
Stocks are trading down
- Bioventus Inc. BVS Shares fell 50% to $3.54 after the company reported poor third-quarter results and lowered guidance for fiscal 22.
- shares of R1 RCM Inc. RCM fell 46% to $7.98 after the company reported worse-than-expected third-quarter EPS and sales results and lowered its fiscal 22 revenue guidance below estimates.
- Unisys Corporation UIS was down, falling 46% to $4.87 on weak quarterly sales.
