New year, new way of thinking. When people write down their New Year’s resolutions, eating healthier, hitting the gym, and becoming more organized, it’s usually at the top of the list, while mental health doesn’t even get an honorable mention.
In this new year, Pia Johnson takes on the task of transforming mental health from a trendy buzzword to a very real priority. Pia Johnson is the owner and founder of Transformation Consulting Services in New York and Licensed Master Social Worker with a focus on clinical social work. Her goal is to empower clients to improve their overall well-being and seek a healthier balance in their lives.
Pia has a BA in Psychology from SUNY Empire State College and an MSW from Hunter College School of Social Work. She brings extensive experience in public service and non-profit organizations from a variety of clinical settings. For over twenty years she has worked with individuals diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness, substance use disorders, LGBTQ populations, depression, anxiety, couples and individuals with chronic medical conditions. She works from a blended theory approach with an emphasis on a strengths-based and client-centric perspective to provide support and foster healthy therapeutic relationships.
No matter what your goals for 2023, getting your sanity in order should be in the top two, not number two. The hard truth is, it doesn’t matter how good looking someone is or how much money they have, if their sanity is in tatters, it’s all for naught.
