EINDHOVEN, The Netherlands, May 24, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — NXP Semiconductors NV NXPI reports that Sir Peter Bonfield, the Founding Chairman of NXP, has resigned from his position on the NXP Board of Directors today at the conclusion of the Company’s Annual General Meeting (“AGM”) in 2023. The NXP Board of Directors has appointed Ms. Julie Southern as Chair, effective immediately. At the AGM, shareholders overwhelmingly elected all nominee directors to the company’s board, including Mr. Moshe Gavrielov, who is joining the board as a non-executive director.

Sir Peter Bonfield has been Chairman of NXP since NXP spun off from Philips in 2006. In his seventeen years as founding Chairman of NXP, Sir Peter was instrumental in guiding NXP through its significant and successful transformation. Ms. Julie Southern, who has now assumed the role of Chair, has been non-executive director of the Board since October 2013 and Chair of the Audit Committee since September 2018.
