Over $200 million in crypto positions have been liquidated amid BTC and ETH declines

At least $220 million worth of long and short positions have been liquidated from the crypto market in the last 24 hours octopus Suspending Staking Operations.

What happened: Data from CoinGlass shows that since the previous day, $200 million worth of long positions and over $20 million worth of short positions have been liquidated.

Over 43% of liquidations happened on binanceworth $100 million.

Out of the total liquidations, $53 million worth of BTC was liquidated. ETH liquidations totaled $52 million and Dogecoin DOGE/USD at 5 million dollars.

The liquidations came in after Kraken agreed to suspend its cryptocurrency staking Fee Settlement Operations with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The SEC says Kraken must “immediately” shut down its crypto staking-as-a-service platform for US customers and pay a $30 million penalty to settle its fees for offering unregistered securities.
