A newly formed Political Action Committee (PAC) to win over the former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson to run for the White House US Presidential Election 2024 launches its campaign with an ad praising Carlson for his criticism of what they perceive as “woke nonsense.”
What happened: The Draft Tucker PACa hybrid PAC registered with the Federal Elections Commission in April after Carlson left Fox News, published its first ad on Thursday, reported The hill.
The ad is scheduled to run on cable channel Newsmax for a week starting next week. “The Republicans need a new leader, and Tucker Carlson is poised to lead,” the ad said.
“Nobody in America is more eloquent and better able to sniff out leftists in either party than Tucker.”
The ad draws a comparison between Carlson and the late radio host Rush Limbaugh. “Tucker Carlson is witty, sharp-witted, and scoffs at bright nonsense.”
“Tucker will flog Biden in a debate.”

Why it matters: Former Texas congressional candidate and GOP donor Chris Ekstrom is chairman and funder of the PAC. Ekstrom finds no former president donald trump still governor of Florida Ron DeSantis “completely satisfactory.”
Now Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy previously said that a former Fox News anchor would make a “good complement” to the 2024 US presidential election. If Carlson puts his name in the GOP candidacy hat, it would be “good for the country,” he said.
