Moderna, another large pharmaceutical company, should donate 7 million doses to India
New Delhi: The Director of Drug Control of India (DCGI) has twice urged Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson and Johnson & Johnson in writing to apply for emergency use authorization for their COVID-19 vaccine in order to process the application in a timely manner, but the pharmaceutical company has not yet applied for a license.
According to ANI sources, the drug regulatory agency is talking to them, but they say we are working hard.
Moderna, another large pharmaceutical company, should donate 7 million doses of drugs from the United States to India under Covax, and it is still waiting.
Since DCGI approved Moderna, Cipla will import vaccines from the United States, but so far there has been no decision on legal compensation.
Recently, Dr. VK Paul, a member of Niti Aayog, said: “They did not respond to the negotiation initiative. We are waiting for the process. The negotiation is proceeding in a positive manner.”
“We are working hard for it, but since it is a negotiation process, it will go back and forth,” Dr. VK Paul told ANI.
Moderna and Pfizer have sought compensation to ensure that they cannot be booked in the event of any adverse effects of the vaccines.
