Price increase for PlayStation games on Steam in these regions – Sony…

Sony Group Corp SONY Several PlayStation games reportedly continued to increase in price Valve‘s Steam in select regions, according to PlayStation Lifestyle.

Argentina, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Japan and South Korea are among the regions affected by the price increase for the digital distribution service and video game storefront.

Which titles were affected? Tencent Holdings ADRs TCEHY Sackboy, Returnal, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone and God of War.

The price increases occurred between April 14th and April 19th. Cost varies by year of release, with newer games like Returnal priced higher than older ones like Horizon Zero Dawn.

Meanwhile, the Japanese company, which is headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, has not released an official statement on the matter.

It remains to be seen whether other digital or physical retail stores in the affected regions will follow suit, or whether other regions will also experience similar price increases.

Here are the new prices for the affected countries:

  • Argentina: from 4199 – 5999 pesos to 8499 – 9999 pesos
  • Canada: from $59.99 – $69.99 Canadian Dollars to $64.99 – $79.99 Canadian Dollars
  • Chile: from 32000 – 39500 pesos to 35000 – 42000 pesos
  • China: from 279 – 379 RMB to 345 – 414 RMB
  • Colombia: from 159,000 – 194,000 pesos to 184,000 – 219,000 pesos
  • Japan: from 4900-5900 yen to 6490-7590 yen
  • South Korea: from 45880 – 58800 won to 52800 – 62800 won
