Sam Bankman Friedthe founder of FTX FTT/USDsaid in a tweet on Sunday that he intends to testify before the US Committee once he “learns and verifies” the events that led to the crash of the now-defunct cryptocurrency exchange.

What happened: That Financial Services Committee of the US House of Representatives have scheduled an investigation in December to determine the causes of FTX’s collapse and are awaiting testimony from the companies and individuals involved, including Bankman-Fried.

Last week, committee chairman Maxine water invited Bankman-Fried to attend the committee hearing on December 13.

“Once I’m done studying and verifying what happened, I would feel it my duty to appear before the committee and explain it,” the founder and former FTX CEO wrote in a reply to Waters.

Bankman-Fried said he couldn’t be sure the event would take place before December 13. In a series of interviews last week, he dismissed allegations of fraud after his stock market collapsed, causing billions of dollars in losses to creditors.

Meanwhile, Elon Musk on Sunday called for the arrest of Bankman-Friedwhen Devin Simonson, an entrepreneur, tweeted that “SBF needs no mention other than his court date,” Musk chimed in, saying he agrees.
