The Teamsters agreement is the best in the parking industry

SAN FRANCISCO, October 12, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Parking garage workers represented by Teamsters Local 665 have unanimously ratified their latest collective bargaining agreement. The four-year contract, which covers over 1,200 members, is expected to offer the best pay and benefits in the parking industry nationwide.

“We are very proud of this agreement, which will continue to provide economic security and job protection for workers in nearly 300 off-street parking spaces in our city,” he said Tony DelorioLocal 665 secretary-treasurer.

“This is a great agreement,” he said Steve Garcia, who has been a member of Local 665 for 45 years. “I always tell the members – if we stick together, we win.”

The construction sites include most of the city’s office buildings and hotels, as well as all of the city’s garages. The new agreement includes annual hourly wage increases, the retention of the union’s health plan, pension improvements and more vacation days, sick days and public holidays – including June 16.

san francisco Park employees have been unionized since 1900, when 200 of them formed the San Francisco Stableman’s Union, which later joined Local 665. In modern times, the industry continues to develop – electric charging stations are to be installed in all garages in the city over the next few months.

“Our members are excited about the new work coming their way,” said Delorio. “With the coming electrification, their jobs will remain an essential part San Francisco’s commercial sector.”

Teamsters Local 665 represents over 5,000 members throughout the Bay Area in waste management, transportation and a variety of other industries. For more information, see https://www.teamsters665.org/.
