on March 27, 2023, The Philadelphia investigator published an article entitled “Bristol plant that spilled chemicals into Philly’s water supply has had further mishaps over the past decade.” The article reported that a “Bristol chemical plant” was owned by Trinseo[, Pennsylvania] Authorities said it caused a toxic spill that endangered Philadelphia’s drinking water has a long history of mishaps — including at least four recent contamination incidents.” The article went on to report that “twice in the last decade, the US Coast Guard previously release of acrylates.” [commonly used to produce glass-like acrylics] from the Bristol plant to Delaware [River]. The EPA had reported two additional spills of acrylates separately.”

As a result of this news, Trinseo’s share price fell $1.09 per share, or 5.26%, to close at $19.62 per share on March 27, 2023.
