(“FortisBC”) and Snuneymuxw First Nation (“Snuneymuxw”) are pleased to announce an agreement to work closely together on the Tilbury Projects. on January 26, 2023Snuneymuxw chief Mike Wyse invited President and CEO of FortisBC Roger Dal‘Antonia to sign the Snuneymuxw Traditional Territory Agreement.
The agreement respects Snuneymuxw’s rights in relation to the potential impact of the project and represents a commitment to share benefits related to the Tilbury projects. Snuneymuxw has committed to support the Tilbury projects and to participate in regulatory processes related to the Tilbury projects, including the Tilbury LNG storage expansion project and the Tilbury Marine Jetty project. The agreement also ensures that FortisBC will support Snuneymuxw community members through educational opportunities, relevant training and ongoing community investment.
