SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said a few Starlink V2 Satellites are being deorbited while others are being tested due to some issues.
What happened: Response to a Twitter thread by Starlink enthusiasts Nathan Owens and astronomer Jonathan McDowellMusk said, “Lots of new technology in Starlink V2, so as expected we have some issues.”
Owens points out elevation changes and eccentricity of some Starlink V2 satellites in his tweet. However, astronomer Jonathan McDowell said only the changes in altitude matteredance.
“I think they’re debugging an issue with the new sats and we’ll see if they resume orbit elevation in a couple of weeks‘ McDowell said.

Musk clarified that some satellites will be deorbited due to the issues, but others will undergo thorough testing before increasing their altitude over the International Space Station.
According to McDowell, there are currently 3,803 Starlinks in orbit. Last week, Falcon 9 launched 52 Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit from California.
SpaceX too launched two Falcon 9 missions within four hours earlier this month and received Musk’s applause.
