The Seed to Table initiative aims to end world hunger and improve the nutritional status of children and families in need
HOUSTON – September 5, 2022 – (Newswire.com)
Rising food prices are devastating for the poorest and it is time to recognize that hunger persists and take steps to eradicate hunger. Techwave, a global leader in IT and engineering solutions, has launched Feed The Need, an end-to-end hunger relief program aimed at tackling the hunger crisis in local communities. Techwave volunteers donated eight pallets, 1,600 bags, 8,000 pounds, 6,667 meals and 90.17 hours to local communities (equivalent to 5,410 meals).
To help fight hunger and provide food to local families in need, Techwave has partnered with America’s Grow-a-Row, a hunger-fighting organization, on their Seed to Table initiative. Through this program, employees are involved in all aspects of the food chain, including planting seeds, harvesting crops, and shipping and distributing food to local families in need. A full range of expenses including seeds, time managing the harvest, packaging and transportation are covered by Techwave.
Regarding the initiative, said Mr. Raj Gummadapu, CEO of Techwave“Our mission is to empower children and families with fresh, healthy produce and to provide them with fresh, healthy produce, and America’s Grow a Row Seed to Table Program initiative is the ideal way to achieve that goal.” From producer to consumer, we cover the entire sales process. Every step of the process, from planting to harvesting to packing and shipping a refrigerated trailer to Feeding America, Houston, is handled by our staff. We believe we will be able to be a helping hand in bringing about change and reducing hunger and food insecurity through this effort.”
