Tesla is hiring safety experts for a new crash test lab in Texas

Tesla Inc TSLA plans to build one new Crash test lab in Austin, Texas.

The aim is to further improve passive safety its electric vehicles.

The Elon Musk-led automaker is known for its safety standards, with Tesla vehicles consistently achieving industry-leading safety ratings.

Accordingly electrThe new crash test laboratory is also hiring.

“You all asked for it. Tesla provided it!” A Tesla recruiter said on LinkedIn. “Tesla is building a crash test lab in Austin, TX! We are hiring technicians to support the crash test lab.”

It’s unclear if the lab will complement or replace the existing facility in Fremont.

Meanwhile the company expected to hold a ceremony for a new lithium refinery on Monday.

The event starts at 3 p.m in the presence of political leaders including Texas Gov. Gregory Abbott.

The $375 million lithium facility will open in Robstown, Texas and will refine battery-grade lithium hydroxide.

Tesla is touting the facility as the first of its kind in North America.
