Tesla Inc TSLA said it would support an investigation being conducted by Chinese authorities in a crash which killed two people in the country’s southern province of Guangdong on November 5.
What happened: The crash affected a Tesla Model Y and killed a motorcyclist and a high school girl, reported Reuters citing local Chinese media.
A video of the incident was shared by Jimu News, which Reuters said showed the car colliding with other vehicles and a cyclist at high speed.
“Police are currently seeking an outside assessment agency to determine the truth behind this accident and we will actively provide any assistance necessary,” Tesla said, according to the report.
Tesla did not immediately respond to gasoline gas requests for comment.

Why it matters: The crash was a trending topic in China Weibo Social media portal on Sunday, Reuters noted.
The 55-year-old Model Y driver encountered a problem with the brake pedal, traffic police told Reuters, citing local media.
An unidentified family member of the driver reportedly said he had problems with the brake pedal.
Last year, the Elon Musk-managed company met with protests at a car show in China due to defective brakes and since then the company has faced further complaints related to brakes in the Far Eastern country. Tesla has defended itself against such claims and formed a legal entity to address them.
