With U.S. stock futures trading mixed this Thursday morning, some of the stocks that may draw investor focus today are as follows:
- Tesla Inc TSLA Stocks staged a surprise recovery on Wednesday. The company’s CEO, Elon Musk, reportedly told employees not to “let stock market madness bother them” after the company’s shares fell about 70% this year on concerns about slowing demand for electric vehicles. “Over the long term, I firmly believe that Tesla will be the most valuable company in the world!” Musk reportedly said. Tesla shares gained 3.3% in regular trading on Wednesday to close at $112.71 and gained another 1.2% in after-hours trading.
- Wall Street expects Mesa Air Group, Inc. MESA posted a quarterly loss of $0.29 per share on after-market sales of $124.22 million. Mesa Air shares were up 0.9% to $1.19 in after-hours trading.
- Cal Maine Foods, Inc. QUIET reported weak earnings for the second quarter, while sales beat expectations. Cal-Maine Foods shares fell 5.1% to $59.00 in the after-hours trading session.

- Hyzon Motors Inc HYZN Shares rose in Wednesday’s after-hours session after the company announced it had entered into an equity agreement with Chevron New Energies, a division of Chevron’s US business, and Raven SR last week. Hyzon Motors shares rose 8.6% to $1.52 in the after-hours trading session.
- S&P Dow Jones Indexes said RXO, Inc. RXO becomes The Joint Corp. on Thursday, January 5, 2023 in the S&P SmallCap 600. RXO shares are up 4.2% to $17.00 in the after-hours trading session.
