Tesla Inc. TSLA revealed a prototype of its humanoid in development on Friday night – the Optimus-Bot.
The bot is designed to be “extremely used” and the production is geared towards volume.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said Optimus could cost less than $20,000.

The bot is built with Tesla-designed actuators, inspired by biology, and can move its fingers, the company says. The company demonstrated how the bot was designed to endure injuries from falls.

The bot consumes 100W of power when sitting and 500W when walking briskly. It weighs 73 kilograms. Degrees of freedom is over 200.

“The bot will do anything a human brain does,” said one of the Tesla team members at the AI Day event.
