Nio Inc‘S NEVER first 10 third generation battery changing stations will reportedly go live earlier than planned later this month.

What happened: Nio’s first 10 third-generation battery swap stations will come online on March 28, ahead of a previously announced schedule. reported CnEVPost. Nio reportedly posted an article on its mobile app related to the launch.

The Chinese EV manufacturer presented the third-generation power changing station on Nio Day in December. The third generation power exchange station adopts a new power exchange mode and increases the capacity to 408 exchanges per day, a 30% increase compared to the second generation power exchange station.

In February it was time reported that Nio expects to add 1000 battery swapping stations in 2023 versus the target of 400 stations announced in December. Nio would have 2,300 battery swap stations by the end of the year if the forecast is met.

Nio is among the early adopters and proponents of battery swapping versus charging the battery. Nio claims it only takes 3 minutes to swap out a fully charged battery.

Price promotion: NYSE-listed Nio ADRs closed 2.8% lower at $8.265 on Friday, according to data from Gasoline Pro.
