senator Thomas Karper (D-DE) has made over 550 trades, typically filed under his spouse, in the last three years, as reported by Capitol Trades. Carper is a member of the Senate Treasury Committee and Chair of the Committee on Treasury Environment and Public Works.

Among Carper’s top-traded issuers are JPMorgan Chase JPM and Barclays UCSboth of which are financial institutions, per Capitol Trades.

It also appears that Carper could be down on the overall market as there was a filing between his spouse on Oct. 10 that revealed a range of $15,000 to $50,000 in shares Ranger Equity Bear Bear ETF HDGE were bought at a price of $30.1 per share, according to Capitol Trades. He also bought the following two dividend stocks.

MPW offers a dividend yield of 10.36%, or $1.16 per share annually on quarterly payments, with an excellent track record of growing its dividends for nine consecutive years. Medical Properties Trust is a $21 billion+ total portfolio healthcare REIT that operates approximately 434 properties with over 44,000 licensed hospital beds in 10 countries.

Medical Properties Trust is the second largest non-governmental owner of hospitals in the world and has grown at a compound annual rate of 25% since the end of 2012.

Carper bought between $1,000 and $15,000 of Medical Properties’ stock, which was filed Oct. 17 at $11.17 per share, according to Capitol Trades. This was filed under his spouse.
