Former President donald trump offered to make his available accuser of rapethe journalist E. Jean Carolla DNA sample to perform a consideration.

What happened: Trump’s attorney Joseph Tacopina said US District Judge Lewis Kaplan in a letter last week that the former president is willing to give a rehearsal provided Carroll turns over pages missing from a forensic report on the dress she allegedly wore on the day of the attack, reported Bloomberg.

Tacopina said Carroll “would not suffer any unfair prejudice or harm by preparing the full DNA report.”

Why it matters: Tacopina said Carroll’s attorneys rejected the last 12 pages of a 37-page DNA report that was prepared by a California lab at her request, Bloomberg reported.

The submitted pages reportedly indicate that DNA from several people was on a black dress she kept after the 1990s incident.

Tacopina gave the impression in his letter that Trump was not among the people whose DNA was found on the dress.

Carroll’s attorney, Robert Kaplansaid the plaintiff searched for Trump’s DNA in January 2020 but was “clearly” denied, according to the report.

Kaplan said, “There is no DNA evidence in this case” and none would be presented in court.”

Carroll’s attorney called Trump’s request “another malicious and legally frivolous delaying tactic,” the report said.

The former president is reportedly set to testify at the trial, which will begin on April 25.
