Former President donald trump and Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis were once allies in the Republican Party. The duo are now expected to face each other in a highly contentious battle for the GOP nomination in the 2024 election.
Although DeSantis has not yet confirmed that he is running for president, Trump continues to make remarks about DeSantis’ Survey and break loyalty.
What happened: “They fade really fast,” Trump said recently called on the Full Send Podcast, referring to the other Republican candidates for the 2024 election.
The former president also had some choice words to say about DeSantis, calling him “a guy from Florida that I endorse.”
“He was politically dead,” Trump added, claiming the Florida governor dropped 25 to 30 points before confirmation. After that, DeSantis won “like a rocket ship, like a rocket man.”
When asked about the work DeSantis has been doing in Florida, Trump cited Florida’s “very high crime rates.”

Trump also claimed Florida had more deaths than many other countries during the Covid-19 pandemic. As of March 2023, it was more than 86,000 deaths of Covid-19 in Florida – the third highest state in the USA
“I find [DeSantis] gets good publicity,” Trump said. “What he did well was public relations.”

“Now he’s a rocketman, crashing,” Trump says. “I run it in every state. I take him everywhere.”
Trump also seems hurt that DeSantis is taking on him on the heels of an endorsement: “If you help someone, I believe in loyalty.”
