Trump’s ‘Beginning To End’ Has Begun, Says His Former Lawyer: This…

Michael Kohenwho served as attorney for donald trump between 2006 and 2018, said in a recent interview that he believes this is the beginning of the end for the former president.

What happened: Cohen’s comments were made in one interview with Salon in the run-up to his upcoming book, Revenge.

“I believe that beginning to end began with this incredible testimony from Tish James,” Cohen said, referring to the New York State Attorney General.

Last month, James sued Trump and his three children for $250 million. Letizia James alleged fraud by Trump’s company in a 200-page lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court.

Cohen also said in the interview that the classified Documents recovered from Mar-a-Lago until Federal Office of Investigations were Trump’s “Get out of Jail Free Card”.

“What he saw in those documents. ‘You want to play with me? For real? I was the former President of the United States. I have documents that are so damaging to the national security of this country. Go ahead, charge me, try to put me in jail. See what happens,” Cohen said.

Why it matters: Referring to James’ Manhattan lawsuit, Cohen said, “This case is going to devastate him financially,” according to Salon.

“A lot of people make the mistake of saying she’s aiming for $250 million. That’s not exact. What she said was, “There’s a baseline of $250 million.”

Cohen said the baseline exists because prosecutors don’t have the full amount.

Trump’s former attorney said in the interview: “Donald Trump has committed tax evasion, bank fraud, wire fraud and false disclosures. He will not be able to avoid it, and that is criminal.”

Cohen, who pleaded guilty to nine federal crimes including tax fraud and lying to Congress, was sentenced to three years in prison in December 2018. He was released in May 2020.
