Inflation concerns led to a mixed week for the three major indices. The S&P 500 fell 0.28%, the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.59% and the Dow lost 0.13% for the week.

The Labor Department reported Tuesday that the consumer price index gained 6.4% in January, after rising 6.5% in December but above economists’ estimate of 6.2%. Core CPI inflation came in at 5.6% in January, also ahead of economists’ estimate of 5.5%.

On Thursday, the Labor Department said the producer price index up 0.7% Month-on-month in January, it beat market estimates by gaining 0.4% and marking its biggest rise in seven months.
