NV regulators urge caution with cannabis products exposed to unapproved pesticides

Nevada cannabis Regulators listed over 100 dispensaries that have sold marijuana products treated with an “unapproved pesticide.”

The Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board said the pesticide ethephon has been detected in more than 117 infused edible products, 41 infused pre-roll products and 221 solvent-based concentrates sold statewide, KTNV Las Vegas reported.

The hemp products in question were harvested between July 23, 2021 and January 5, 2023 by Clark Natural Medicinal Solutions, LLC., a local cultivation facility.

According to the National Library of Medicine, the pesticide can impair liver function and potentially cause dizziness, weakness, skin ulcers, and other heart and liver disorders.

Washingtonians are buying more low-THC beverages individually

Lawmakers in Washington are trying to relax restrictions on low-THC liquid-infused products, Edmonds Beacon reported.

HB 1249, introduced by Rep. Chris Corry (R-Yakima), would allow consumers to purchase 12 or 24 packs of low-THC beverages in a single purchase, with a limit of 4.5 milligrams per single container.

Currently, consumers can only purchase a six-pack of low-THC products in liquid form.

Brookline officials are investigating the impact of marijuana use on the city

The Brookline Department of Public Health & Human Services has directed a research team to study how marijuana use affects residents of the city of Brookline.

Researchers will focus on identifying risks and protective factors for cannabis use, as well as approaches to address health inequalities and racial justice, Health Commissioner Sigalle Reiss said in a news release Thursday.
