US retail sales could rise by that much in September, here are the…

US stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the Nasdaq Composite rising on a gain of over 200 points apple inc AAPL shares.

Let’s take a look at the major economic events scheduled for today.

  • September retail sales data will be released at 8:30 am ET. Analysts expect retail sales to rise 0.2% in September after rising 0.3% in the previous month.
  • Import and export price data for September will be released at 8:30 am ET. Import prices are expected to fall by 1.0%, while export prices could fall by 0.2% mom in September.
  • Company Inventory data for August will be released at 10:00 am ET. Analysts expect corporate inventories to rise 0.9% in August after rising 0.6% a month ago.
  • The University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index for October is scheduled for release at 10:00 am ET. Analysts expect consumer sentiment to rise to 58.8 from 58.6 in October.
  • Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank President Esther George will speak at 10:00 am ET.
  • Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook will speak at 10:30 am ET.
  • The Baker Hughes North American rig count report for the last week is released at 1:00 PM ET.
