Host of a radio show Domenick Nati posted a video about it Tick tock about his Tesla Inc. TSLA Model S vehicle do not charge in freezing weather in December 2022.
What happened: Nati said at the time he tried to charge the vehicle at home but it didn’t work. He then attempted to refill the battery on a Supercharger, but the car displayed a message saying it was warming up in preparation for charging.

The car displayed the message “The charge rate will increase once the battery is warm” on its console Video showed.
Even an hour after plugging it in, the car wouldn’t charge – even two hours later the situation hadn’t changed.
The radio host said he was “stranded on Christmas Eve!”

Why it matters: Nati’s video has been viewed 727,800 times at the time of writing. It was liked 42,100 times.
The loading problem occurred when it was 19 F or -7 C, reported electr. The publication noted that it takes time for the battery pack to warm up sufficiently to accept higher charge rates. The report attributed the problem Nati faced to a malfunction.
The Out of Spec Reviews YouTube channel recently froze a Tesla Model 3 vehicle at -14°F to see what would happen to the vehicle.
The notification the Nati encountered also appeared in the YouTube video. However, this particular vehicle was eventually charged.
