Student financial aid can help you afford college fees, but you can only get it if you apply on time. Federal Student Aid Deadline
From the beginning of the application period to the end of each academic year, you will have approximately 18 months to receive a free student aid application or FAFSA. The US Department of Education strongly recommends that you apply for FAFSA as soon as possible after October 1.
Remember, the sooner you apply, the more likely you are to receive assistance with limited funds available. This includes grants, scholarships, and certain federal work-study programs. Although you can submit your FAFSA before June 30th of a specific academic year, you need to submit it in advance to get funding in time at the beginning of the academic year.

Make sure you know the FAFSA deadline for your university by contacting their financial aid office. The deadline for some schools is the date your form is processed, while the deadline for other schools is the date the school receives the FAFSA data processed by you.
In addition to FAFSA, you may also need to fill in Introduction to College Scholarship ServiceOr CSS Profile to qualify for assistance. The deadline for CSS Profile varies from school to school, so please check each place you apply. CollegeBoard is an organization that oversees CSS, and it is recommended that you submit your application at least two weeks before the university deadline.
