What happened: Lucid Motors has issued a recall for 637 Air EVs manufactured in 2022 and 2023, as evidenced by a National Road Safety Authority.
The company said the electrically activated contact switches or contactors could open unexpectedly and cut power to the sedan’s electric motors, increasing the risk of an accident.
The driver does not receive a warning about this problem. Instead, they receive notifications about a system error and the reduction in drive power. However, vehicle gauges, power steering, and power brakes will still work.
