THE FORUM HELD ON SEPTEMBER 8 EXPLORED THE “SOURCE OF JIANGNAN” IN DEQING, HUZHOU
Hangzhou, China — (Newsfile Corp. – September 17, 2022) — Xinhua Daily Telegraph proudly announced that it successfully co-organized the South-China Culture Heritage and Development (Deqing) Forum on Sept. 8th, 2022, on the banks of Mogan Mountain. The forum was jointly sponsored by the Xinhua Daily Telegraph, the Huzhou City Committee Propaganda Department and the Deqing County Government. The Deqing County South China Spring Cultural Research Center was inaugurated, and more than ten experts and scholars from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University and other institutions shared their views on the origin of the southern Chinese culture from .

“To study Jiangnan culture, regional human geography should be understood,” said Ge Jianxiong, senior professor at Fudan University while sharing his thoughts at the forum. “Hangjiahu, where Deqing is located, is a transition zone between hills and plains, and when people settled in the early days, they chose such a place with the advantages of hills and plains,” he added.
According to Professor Ge, there are also many early sites in these areas, where rich resources provide a fairly rich material basis for economic and cultural development. He added that there is even more need for people to carry on, inherit and develop southern China culture based on the heritage of history in a down-to-earth manner.
