The Ukrainian President hailed his government’s efforts to restore power generation systems after a massive Russian attack last week caused major power outages in the war-torn nation.
What happened: Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Sunday said energy workers had done a good job repairing the damage but it was too early to declare victory on the energy front.

“Just the fact that we can have such peaceful energy days after a massive rocket attack this week is a testament to the professionalism of our energy workers,” he said in a regular video address.
The President too warned of renewed attacks Wladimir Putin and said the planned power outages would remain in place this week.
“We have to recognize that this is not yet a decisive victory on the energy front. Unfortunately, there may be new terrorist attacks from Russia. There may be new restrictions if there is further destruction or an increase in consumption.”
Meanwhile, spokesman for the White House National Security Council John Kirby said Washington welcomes any effort that could lead to an end to hostilities between Russia and Ukraine, and asked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi intervention.
“I think Putin still has time to end the war. I think there is still time for that. I will let PM Modi talk about any effort he is willing to make.”
