apple inc AAPL could reportedly release the iOS 16.1.1 update before the end of this month.
What happened: Apple’s upcoming iOS 16 update could release the long-awaited one Emergency SOS function via satellite for iPhone 14 models and fix the bug affecting its ad network, reported Apple Insider.

According to Apple’s system status page, an update is imminent as they try to fix an issue with SKAdNetwork.
“There is an issue affecting SKAdNetwork for users on iOS 16.1. We are working to quickly fix this issue in a software update,” read the status.
The problem reportedly started on November 3rd, affecting some users. Apple did not provide any further information.
Why it matters: On October 25, Apple opened up advertising space on the App Store for prospects to place their ads, but it was soon abused by gambling and other inappropriate ads.
After backlash from developers and commenters, Apple has stopped promoting these apps.
On the other hand, although the SOS via satellite feature was introduced with the iPhone 14 range, it shouldn’t be available to customers until November. The iOS 16.1.1 update should enable the feature as the Cupertino-based tech giant is unlikely to release another significant update this month, the report said.
