AOC slams Elon Musk over plans to remove Twitter’s Legacy Blue…

Last Friday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez shared her dismay at Elon Musk’s alleged plan to remove the old blue ticks that help verify Twitter users.

The social media platform announced this last week Settlement of his inheritance Blue-Tick verified program starting April 1st.

“On April 1, we will begin to retire our old verified program and remove old verified ticks,” the company said. However, it added that users could keep their blue ticks by signing up for Twitter’s paid subscription program and paying $8 a month.

Following the announcement, Ocasio-Cortez criticized Musk for his plans to remove the blue ticks.

“Last time they tried that someone pretended to be Eli Lilly and fueled their stock price by pretending insulin was free,” she tweeted in reference to two accounts pretending to be the insulin-producing pharmaceutical company. and used Twitter paid verification Function to get the blue tick.

Following her tweet on Friday, Ocasio-Cortez posted another, noting that Twitter had oddly decided to scale back its old April Fool’s Day verified program.

This isn’t the first time the New York politician has criticized Musk for his approach to Twitter verification. Last year, her tweeted“Lmao at a billionaire who’s seriously trying to sell people the idea that ‘free speech’ is actually an $8/month subscription plan.”
