Artemisia: The police said on Friday that they had filed criminal proceedings against Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Salma, four senior national police officials and two other officials for the reason they were in Kola, Mizoram. The four senior Assam police officers appointed in the FIR are the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Anurag Aggarwal, Cachar Devojyoti Mukherjee Deputy Inspectorate (DIG), Cachar Police Chief Cahndrakant Nimbalkar and Dholai Police Department Chief Sahab Uddin, Nelea said.

He said that Cachar Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli and Cachar District Forest Officer Sunnydeo Chaudhary were also booked for the same allegations.

Neihlaia said that in addition, cases against 200 unidentified Assam police officers were also registered.

He added that four police officers and two administrative officials had been summoned for questioning on Sunday.
