As the Russo-Ukrainian War rages on through 2023, the economic and human costs of Russia’s invasion of its neighbor continue to mount. The war began in February 2022 and was an ally of the Russian President for several months after the conflict began Wladimir Putin made a chilling statement about a possible Russian military strike on a major western city if NATO were drawn into the war.

A Member of Parliament of Russia and Putin’s staunch supporter, Andrei Gurulev, issued a martial warning when appearing as a guest on state-supported national television in June.

Gurulyov spoke about Lithuania’s blockade of the neighboring Russian exclave of Kaliningrad.

For supplying Kaliningrad, Russia may consider an invasion of the Baltic States, which includes Lithuania and Estonia, the former defense official told TV Video shared by the Daily Mirror with English subtitles.

Since these are NATO countries, A Russian invasion will trigger Article 5 and potentially lead to World War III, he added.

“The first to be hit will be London. It is crystal clear that the threat to the world is the Anglo-Saxons.”

He also said Russia will target extremely important sites that would cut power supplies to Europe. The US will have to ask Western Europe to continue fighting in the cold without food and electricity, he warned.
