Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Sunday she doesn’t believe the former president donald trump will make one Appearance before the Jan.6 committee Investigation of the riot in the Capitol.

What happened: The Speaker of the House of Representatives made the comments in one go interview with MSNBC’s Jonathan Kaphart. “I don’t think he’s man enough to show up,” Pelosi said, adding that the former president’s attorneys would stop him from showing up because “he has to testify under oath.”

“The public should make the judgment,” she said. When asked about a scenario in which Trump refuses to consent to the committee’s subpoena, Pelosi added that such action would imply that “he believes he is above the law.”

Why it matters: Pelosi told Capehart Sunday that she has kept her “distance” from the committee’s decision-making.

Trump was officially subpoenaed by the panel on Friday. He was asked to provide relevant documentary material as indicated – by November 4th. That would be followed by one or more days of “testimony,” beginning on or about November 14, according to an earlier report.

Former Vice-Chairman of the Committee Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) said there was no “disagreement” on the panel when it came to that issuance of the summons to trump.
