Andrew Tate, Brother Says $467,000 BTC Seized in Romania: Report

Influencers and ex-kickboxers Andrew Tate and his brotherR‘S Bitcoin BTC/USD Stocks were reportedly confiscated by Romanian authorities in mid-February.

What happened: Tate was imprisoned in Romania and after his arrest was charged with human trafficking and rape.

Mateea Petrescua spokesman for Tate and his brother Tristan told decrypt that in addition to the arrests hardware wallets together contain 21 Bitcoinsvalued at approximately $467,625, were confiscated.

Petrescu said Andrew Tate’s wallet contained five bitcoin – currently worth about $111,339 – while Tristan’s wallet contained 16 bitcoin.

Authorities in Romania have seized millions of dollars worth of luxury cars, homes and watches belonging to Tate.

It should be noted that Tate had spoken openly about Bitcoin and its potential.

In a podcast late last year with Anthony Pompliano, Tate said, “It’s one of the easiest ways to take control of your finances and move money around quickly and securely. “With bitcoin, you can actually control and own your money,” he noted. “Remember how difficult it used to be to move large amounts of cash – no problem with Bitcoin!”

Tate also revealed returns he has made from his crypto investments in the same podcast: “[I] turned $600,000 into $12 million,” he said.
