Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (AOC) on Sunday again called for the impeachment of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas after failing to disclose some expensive trips he received from a Republican mega-donor.

What happened: It is “the responsibility of the House of Representatives to continue this investigation in the form of an impeachment trial.” said AOK in a (n interview in CNN’s State of the Union, calling for an investigation into the matter.

“I believe that we should continue the course. And if It’s the Republicans who decide to protect them who are breaking the law, then they are the ones who are then responsible for that decision,” she said of the GOP majority in the House of Representatives, which is unlikely to conduct such an investigation. “But we shouldn’t be complicit in that.”

AOC addressed Thomas’ recent testimony and urged the chief justice John Roberts to publicly confirm whether he condones the “serious corruption” mentioned by Thomas. “If he’s talking about his colleagues and who advised him to break the law, I think we need to know who those people are.”

Last week, AOC called for Thomas’ impeachment on Twitter after a bombshell report from ProPublica revealing his trip was paid for by a Republican donor Harlan Crowincluding travel on the donor’s yacht and private jet.

Thomas, defending his stance, said he did not disclose the luxury trips because he was advised at the time “by colleagues and others in the judiciary” that they were not needed.

The Supreme Court’s Public Information Office, in a rare statement citing Thomas, said the trips he took with Crow and his wife were the “kind of personal hospitality from close personal friends” that he was told was not would have to be disclosed.

He also described them as his family’s “dearest friends.”
