Belgian and French citizens can obtain a New Zealand visa on easier terms

A valid visa is required for Belgian visitors visiting New Zealand for a stay of up to 90 days. The 2009 Visa Waiver Program allows Belgian passport holders to visit New Zealand with an NZeTA for a period of up to 90 days without first obtaining a New Zealand visa. Those traveling from Belgium to New Zealand are eligible for this privilege. From July 2019, Belgian citizens will need one NEW ZEALAND VISA FOR BELGIAN CITIZEN.

A visa is required for all Belgian citizens wishing to stay in New Zealand for less than three months. This is a mandatory rule, not a suggestion. It is the traveller’s responsibility to ensure that their passport is valid for at least three months beyond the date they intend to leave New Zealand. Only Australian nationals are exempt; even Australian permanent residents require an Electronic Travel Authorization to enter New Zealand.

Payment of the New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority fees is required before the New Zealand government will begin processing an eTA application from a Belgian resident (NZeTA). People in Belgium can have their New Zealand eTAs sent to them. New Zealand may require additional documentation from applicants from some countries, including Belgium, before accepting its New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority.

French citizens are now allowed to visit New Zealand on a NEW ZEALAND VISA FOR FRENCH CITIZENS. Thanks to the Visa Waiver Scheme, introduced in 2009, French citizens can stay in New Zealand for up to ninety days without applying for a visa. From July 2019, French citizens will need an Electronic Travel Authorization to visit New Zealand.

All French nationals wishing to visit New Zealand for less than three months are required to have a valid non-extendable visa which must be applied for prior to departure.
