Nishad Singha former member of the crypto exchange’s inner circle FTX FTT/USD co-founder Sam Bankman Friedis reportedly in talks to plead guilty to criminal charges related to alleged multi-year fraud at FTX.

Citing sources familiar with the matter, Bloomberg reported Singh had been in talks with Manhattan, New York, prosecutors about an agreement that could include working with authorities to further isolate Bankman-Fried, who is awaiting trial after pleading not guilty to eight counts of charges known.

The Manhattan Attorney’s Office declined to comment, as did Singh’s attorney. Andrew D Goldstein.

Two of Bankman-Fried’s former top employees, Gary Wang And Caroline Ellisonpleaded guilty last year to charges related to her roles at FTX and Alameda Research and is working with prosecutors.

Singh played a significant role in the day-to-day operations of FTX, leading the engineering team and being instrumental in the development of the exchange’s software.

Singh has donated more than $9.3 million to Democratic candidates and committees since 2020, including $8 million during the last election cycle, and $1 million to Mind The Gap, a political action committee led by Bankman- Fried’s mother was founded.

Officials claimed Bankman-Fried orchestrated a years-long scam that deceived investors and misused billions of dollars in FTX client funds for personal spending and risky bets at Alameda Research, the crypto exchange-affiliated trading firm.

Living in a penthouse in the Bahamas with Bankman-Fried, Singh was hired by Alameda in 2017 before founding FTX with Wang and Bankman-Fried two years later.
