The leaders of proud boysa far-right group, is calling on the Justice Department to subpoena the former president donald trump

What happened: The attorney for the Proud Boys, a group allegedly planning to use violence to keep Trump in power, said: “Trump has been President of the United States at all times and it is the government’s duty to bring him up.” reported The Washington Post.

The lawyer, Norm Pattis, did not elaborate on what the defendants wanted to know from Trump, but was accompanied by lawyers for the co-defendant Dominic Pezzola in effort.

Why it matters: Pattis said he needs the government’s help to serve Trump a subpoena as US intelligence continues to protect the former leader, according to the Post.
