Artist Matt FuryCreator of viral Pepe meme said he had no knowledge of it Pep coin PEPE/USDdespite his recent surge in popularity.

What happened: Furie made the remarks during a Twitter Spaces chat session on Tuesday, discussing his new NFT art collection pulled.

Furie said: “Actually, this is the first time I’ve heard about it. What is Pepe Coin?

He went on to clarify that he is a “Dogecoins DOGE/USD maxi” and is familiar with ether ETH/USD And Bitcoin BTC/USD.

Why it matters: Furie has previously distanced itself from the Pepe meme due to its abuse by extremist political groups.
