Mark Cuban Says Silicon Valley Tech Bros Are ‘Pretentious As F***’…

Entrepreneur and NBA team owner Mark Cuban is not afraid to give business advice to help others. The Cuban is also known for being open in his opinions on many subjects. This is what Cuban thinks about Silicon Valley.

What happened: Despite being worth billions, Cuban is still working today and is involved in many business initiatives and is one of the most active Stars from Shark Tank.

Some may be surprised to learn that while Cuban has made some of his fortunes in the tech world, he steers clear of one of the geographic areas best known as a tech hub.

Cuban tells Bill Maher that he avoids California’s Silicon Valley as much as possible.

“(It’s) presumptuous as hell. The attitude, it’s just like… ‘Of course we’re smarter. We went to Harvard, we went to MIT, we’re in tech,” Cuban said during an appearance at Club Random podcast.

Cuban told Maher he couldn’t stand the “tech brothers” and their thoughts.

The entrepreneur pointed out that California has higher tax rates and stricter regulations than Texas, the state Cubans call home.

Cuban said several Silicon Valley companies have been extremely successful, attribution Apple, Metaplatforms, Alphabet, And PayPal. For Cuban, it’s just a preference to avoid the geographic area and associated attitudes that Cuban called overrated.

“There is a lot of capital there, so people follow the money. But the pretentiousness and the attitude and the expectations and the arrogance – like it’s just a deal. You can be good anywhere in the world.”

Why it matters: Cuban sells computer consulting company MicroSolutions for $6 million in 1990. His second company, Broadcast.com was sold Yahoo in 1999. Both companies were based in Dallas prior to their respective acquisitions CNBC.
