Meta’s Identifies Source of Unannounced VR Headset Leaks – Meta…

Metaplatforms Inc. META has finally debunked the source that was leaking information about its unannounced VR headsets.

What happened: YouTuber Brad Lynch posted a video with detailed CAD drawings and specs for MetaQuest Pro in July 2022. That was months before Device has been officially released.

After months of investigation, Meta has successfully identified the source that leaked this information. reported The Verge citing an internal post from the CTO Andrew Bossworth with employees.

In September, Lynch also posted a video on this channel of what he says are the drawings and specs for the Meta Quest 3the tech giant’s upcoming consumer headset, which is expected to launch later this year.

Bosworth shared the news of this development with employees this week, telling them that the company had severed ties with the leaker.

The internal email also mentioned that the unnamed leaker was paid to share the information with Lynch. He reportedly asked Lynch for a revenue share from the YouTube ads that ran for his videos, the report said.

Meta and Lynch did not immediately respond gasoline gas Request for comments.

Unfortunately it’s Bradley is the name of Lynch’s YouTube channel, which at the time of writing has 114,000 subscribers on the platform.
